WebP is a next-generation image format developed by Google that provides superior compression for both lossless and lossy images on the web. WebP files are typically 25–35% smaller than equivalent JPEGs at the same visual quality. However, despite its clear technical advantages, WebP is still not universally supported — particularly in:
Our WebP to JPG Converter operates entirely in your browser using the HTML5 Canvas API. This means your images are never uploaded to any server — ensuring 100% privacy and lightning-fast conversion speeds regardless of your internet connection.
Choosing between JPG and PNG depends on the type of image you are converting:
Absolutely. Our converter uses the browser's built-in Canvas API and FileReader APIto process images entirely on your device. No file data is ever transmitted over the internet. This makes our tool not only fast but also completely secure and GDPR-compliant by design.
Will converting WebP to JPG reduce image quality?
JPG uses lossy compression, so some quality reduction is expected. However, at 90% quality (our default), the difference is virtually invisible to the human eye. Use the quality slider to fine-tune this trade-off.
Can I convert multiple WebP files at once?
Currently, our tool converts one file at a time. After downloading your converted image, click "Convert Another" to process the next file. Batch conversion is on our roadmap.
What is the maximum file size I can convert?
Since the conversion happens in your browser, the limit is your device's available RAM. Most modern devices can handle files up to 50MB without any issues. Very large files (>100MB) may slow down the conversion.
